As the students continue to improve and grow under Koro-sensei, they realize that the tentacled creature is perhaps the best teacher that they have ever had.Īs the show progresses, the students of Class 3-E complete a semester under their all-powerful new teacher, and even go for an island excursion together during the summer vacation. Koro-sensei not only helps the students of Class 3-E become better academically, but he also schools them in methods of assassination. However, as Koro-sensei settles into his new role, he treats the students of Class 3-E with respect, and even helps them overcome their problems. Demoralized and discriminated against, the students hardly believe themselves to be capable of success in day-to-day life, much less in the assassination of a creature whose powers are of cosmic proportions. On top of that, the students all have personal problems, and struggle to gel with each other and function as a unit. Yet, the students of Class 3-E are misfits, are at the bottom of Kunugigaoka’s hierarchical education system, and face discrimination from teachers and students alike. Not only do the students have to study under the fearsome Koro-sensei, they are also covertly given the seemingly impossible task of assassinating him and freeing the Earth from his clutches. Thus begins the ordeal for students of Class 3-E, whom the monster, now dubbed Koro-sensei (literally meaning the indestructible teacher), starts teaching. Desperate to delay Earth’s impending destruction and desperate to keep the creature confined and under surveillance, the powers that be agree to grant the creature the position he so desires.
Following the explosion, which engulfs the sky, a yellow tentacled monster claims that he is the one responsible for the massive lunar explosion, and holds the governments of the world hostage by threatening the Earth with a similar, catastrophic fate.Īlthough the monster initially says that he plans to destroy the Earth in a similar fashion within a year, he agrees to hold off his plan in return for an unusual favour – a teaching position at the prestigious Kunugigaoka Junior High School. The show starts off with a catastrophic event that sees the moon being blasted into a permanent crescent.
In essence, Assassination Classroom is as much a sci-fi story as it is a comical one. That being said, it’s best to watch the show in Japanese with subtitles of your choice, and the Japanese version of the show can be found on Netflix and Crunchyroll. We’re keeping our ears open for news on Season 3, and we’ll update this section when we hear more. Our best guess is that Assassination Classroom season 3 release date could be sometime in 2020 or 2021. While that sounds discouraging, we still expect the show to return for a third season, considering that there’s enough source material for it.

However, the anime movie was released back on November 19, 2016, and since then, there has been no word on Season 3. It will be based on the spin-off manga Koro-sensei Q, and was initially slated to be aired following the anime show’s movie adaptation, Assassination Classroom: 365 Days. If reports are to be believed, the third season will pick up after the events of Season 2, and will follow the events which take place after Koro-sensei’s resurrection. Although it has been a while since then, the word is that the anime show is likely to see a third season.
